Tulsa Ballet

Tulsa Ballet is a professional ballet company whose mission is to preserve the tradition of classical ballet, promote the appreciation of contemporary dance, create works of superior and enduring quality and educate through exemplary dance training, performances and outreach programs. The story of Tulsa Ballet began in 1956. Husband and wife Roman Jasinski and Moscelyne Larkin, and musician Rosalie Talbott, founded Tulsa Ballet Theatre, blending classical dance with dramatic theatre. Internationally known dancers in the Ballet Russe tradition, Jasinski and Larkin set the tone for artistic excellence—a foundation that has been preserved and built upon for decades.

09-10 Compnay PhotoTulsa Ballet now employs a multi-cultural roster of dancers representing nine states and fifteen foreign countries, attracted by the challenging and varied repertoire as well as the company's reputation for engaging the world's most relevant choreographers. For fifty-three years, Tulsa Ballet has enriched the lives of Oklahomans, providing performances and outreach programs to more than 40,000 individuals annually. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Marcello Angelini, now in his fifteenth year with the company, Tulsa Ballet has brought unprecedented recognition to our our city and state by developing a reputation for innovative ideas and great artistic acheivements.
