November 30, 2012 -  Tulsa Ballet Principal Dancer Alfonso Martin will be joining the Tulsa Ballet Artistic Staff for the 2013-2014 season.  Mr. Martin has had a long career as a dancer for Tulsa Ballet, and after his retirement at the end of the current season, he will be assuming the responsibility of Tulsa Ballet II Artistic Manager.

Martin has already begun working with the TBII dancers in setting a new work by Resident Choreographer Ma Cong.
Artistic Director Marcello Angelini said, “Alfonso is the perfect individual to assume the reins of Tulsa Ballet II. He has been dancing with Tulsa Ballet for fourteen years, ten of which were spent as Principal Dancer. As a dancer, he embodied the professional standards of our company, both on stage and off, the artistic and technical range required of our dancers, the drive and passion for our art form that leads to individual and team success and the human values we expect from our artists. He is now ready to pass on his experience to present and future Tulsa Ballet dancers.

"The mission of Tulsa Ballet II is to recruit and coach the next generation of company dancers, so that our second company becomes the primary recruiting ground for our main company. I have no doubt that we will achieve our mission and primary goal in short order with Mr. Martin in charge of this ensemble," said Angelini.
