Jiyan Dai started dancing at the Shenyang Dance Academy, and during that time won the Bronze medal, at Japan’s 2004 IBC in Nagoya. Then received his Bachelor’s degree from the Beijing Dance Academy, during college he won the Artistry Award in the 2006 Vaganova IBC in St. Petersburg. He joined the Universal Ballet Company in Seoul, Korea and performed “the Prince” in The Nutcracker, “Lensky” in Onegin, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayedere, Don Quixote, Jiri Kylian’s Petit Mort and Sechs Tanze, Heinz Spoerli’s All Shall Be, Ohad Naharin’s Minus 7, William Forsythe’s In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated.
