Youhee Son was born in Korea. She graduated Perm State Ballet School in Russia with honors. She attended the Pre-Professional Course at Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower in France and was scouted to Cannes Jeune Ballet. She joined Universal Ballet in 2004. She was awarded “Rookie of the year” in 2010 by the Korean Dance Association. Youhee joined Tulsa Ballet in 2013. Her repertory includes leading roles in Onegin (Cranko), The Nutcracker (Angelini), The Sleeping Beauty, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Wheeldon), Cinderella (Stevenson), La Bayadère, Don Quixote, Petite Mort, Sechs Tänze (Kylián), In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated (Forsythe), This is Your Life and Contrast (Hue), Minus 7 (Naharin), Lady of the Camellias (Caniparoli), Classical Symphony (Possokhov), The Four Temperaments (Balanchine), Company B (Taylor) Rite of Spring (Hougland), One/End/One (Elo), Extremely Close (Cerrudo), Rooster (Bruce), Angle of Incidence (Gates), The Fullest Recreation (Neenan), Axis Mundi (Fonte), Juxtaposed, Uniko (Ma Cong) and among many other roles.
