Sarah Steele was born in New York, NY and began her ballet training at Nunnbetter Dance Theatre in Bergenfield, NJ under the direction of Leath Nunn. At 16, she began professional level training and coaching with Valentina Kozlova at Valentina Kozlova’s Dance Conservatory of New York (VKDCNY). While attending VKDCNY, Sarah also completed high school at Professional Children’s School in New York City. She is the recipient of a gold medal from the Tanzolymp International Ballet Competition in Berlin, Germany and a silver medal from the Boston International Ballet Competition in Boston, Massachusetts. She has also participated in several gala performances, including the International Baltic Ballet Festival in Latvia, the Varna International Ballet Competition in Bulgaria, and the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition in New York. At VKDCNY, Sarah danced a varied classical repertoire, including Gamzatti from La Bayadere, Aurora from The Sleeping Beauty, The Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker, as well as several contemporary works by Margo Sappington and Nina Buisson.
