Norton FantinelSenior Soloist
Born in Porto Alegre,Brazil, Norton trained at the School of Ballet Vera Bublitz, the School of Ballet Bolshoi in Brazil and the School of The Washington Ballet. Following graduation, Norton joined The Washington Ballet where he later became a Soloist. Norton comes to us from the Sao Paulo Companhia de Danca where he is was a Principal dancer. His repertory includes Principal roles in Don Quixote by Anne Marie Holmes, Grand Pas de deux Diana e Acteon by Agripina Vaganova, James and Gurn in La Sylphide by August Bournonville, Green Boy in Celts by Lila York, Rubies, Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Theme and Variations and Serenade by George Balanchine, Russian and Cavalier in The Nutcracker and Peter Pan in Peter Pan by Septime Webre, In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated by Willian Forsythe, Six Dances by Jiri Kylian, Legend by John Cranko, among others. Also, Norton has worked with Nacho Duato, Mark Morris, Twyla Tharp, Edwaard Liang and Richard Cragun. Norton received many awards at competitions such as The Youth America Grand Prix, World Ballet Competition, and the Festival Internacional de Danca de Joinvil. He has also been invited to perform as a Principal Guest Artist in companies and galas worldwide including “The Rudolf Nureyev Gala” and YAGP "Gala Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow".
