Classes will be offered in CLASSICAL BALLET, POINTE, CHARACTER, JAZZ, MODERN, VARIATIONS, and PARTNERING. Class level placement and qualification for pointe classes is entirely the decision of the Artistic Staff. Students will receive preliminary class placement based upon their audition. However, the Artistic Staff reserves the right to make placement changes throughout the duration of Pointe to the Future.
Students may elect to take one, two or three weeks of classes during Pointe to the Future. Each regular class day will consist of a minimum of three classes (depending upon placement), supplemented by enrichment classes as scheduled. During Week Three, portions of regular classes may be used in preparation for the final demonstration. Additional rehearsals will be scheduled on Saturdays. In order to participate in the demonstration, students must attend all three weeks or the final two weeks of workshop as well as all scheduled rehearsals. Students who wish to attend only for one week of classes must attend Week One of the program.
All classes will be conducted at the Tulsa Ballet Studios in the company's headquarters at 4512 South Peoria Avenue in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The newly renovated building in midtown Tulsa features five dance studios equipped with a three-layer basketweave, sprung wooden floor. Designed especially for dancers' protection, the floor works with dancers' bodies to give elevation, cushion landings and avoid injury. Special attention to lighting, mirrors and observation areas make these studios both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
